Where do these terms come from? The terms on this site are gathered from various online sources. Most of these terms are widely used on forums and thus have various references toward their meanings. We have simply taken the time to bring them all in one place, orignize them, and combine definitions into the best explanation we can possibly provide. UPDATE: We have decided not to include every term we have ever found... to date this is around 200-300 terms. Instead we would rather reward people for submitting terms by giving them credit (& link back if possible)... so if you run a site that has terms, submit them and get some backlinks as a thank you. ^ top
What about the ads on this site? Some people may wonder why we would place ads on this site if the content was gathered rather than written 100% from our own knowledge. To explain this falls into two areas. 1. We are not a Mr. Money Bags with a bank account full of cash to try and spend on hosting, design, programming, etc. So to try and help with the cost we have decided to place a few ads on the site. We could have went with free hosting and a premade template design... but this route allows us to provide ads that are directed at what you actually care about instead of whatever the free host wants to put on our site. It also allows us to have better control of the domain and provide you with the best experience possible. 2. All of this "knowledge" is information we were already gathering for our own personal mental development. We just got tired of looking in various places for our information. We thought it might be a nice service to the geocaching community to provide one more location that might have more information in one place then the others out there. ^ top
Do you make money from this site? For the record, no one behind the scenes here gets paid for their work. This is a voluntary project. One we hope you might get involved in. If you know of any terms that are not listed here... Submit Them Here. Any money made from this site, pays for this site. Anything above that is used to buy supplies to donate to various geocaching meetup events. ^ top

Can GeocacheLingo.com donate something to a meetup event I am planning? Yes and No. As previously stated this site runs on donated time and stays afloat on the small amount we might make on ad revenue. We can only donate when there is something in our budget to do so... BUT, it never hurts to ask. (We love to when we have the ability to do so!) ^ top
Would GeocacheLingo.com trade links with my site? At this time we do not have a links page up and running. Once we do, we would be glad to trade links with any geocaching related website. Check back with us! ^ top
